USD # 247 BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING – December 14, 2009

A regular meeting of the USD #247 Board of Education was called to order by President Keith Ritchey at 6:30 p.m., Monday, December 14, 2009, at the District Office. Other members present were Greg Hite, Mindy Dainty, Tara Underwood, LaDonna Hartman, Jerry Alexander, and Joe Ulery. Also present were Superintendent Tim Burns and Board Clerk Roberta Sellers.

(1) Tara Underwood moved to approve the agenda as amended. Mindy Dainty seconded. Motion carried 7-0.

(2) LaDonna Hartman moved to approve the minutes of the November 9, 2009 meeting. Jerry Alexander seconded. Motion carried 7-0.

(3) Greg Hite moved to approve the bills totaling $142,899.69. Jerry Alexander seconded. Motion carried 7-0.

Auditor’s (4) Greg Hite moved to approve the auditor’s report as presented. Tara Underwood

Report seconded. Motion carried 7-0.

Memo. Of (5) Jerry Alexander moved to accept the Memorandum of Understanding.(see Appendix

Understanding A) Tara Underwood seconded. Motion carried 7-0.

Dr. Howard Smith gave a presentation on the process to reconfigure the school district and the reasons why districts have to reconfigure. The board will meet again with Dr. Smith at the next regular scheduled meeting to set a timeline for additional meetings on the subject.

(6) Tara Underwood moved to go into Executive Session to discuss student issues for 20 min. to reconvene at 7:52 pm. LaDonna Hartman seconded. Motion carried 7-0.

President Ritchey called the meeting back to order.

(7) Tara Underwood moved to go into Executive Session to discuss student issues for 20 min. to reconvene at 8:15 pm. Joe Ulery seconded. Motion carried 7-0.

President Ritchey called for a 5 minute break.

(8) Greg Hite moved to go into Executive Session to discuss non-elected personnel for 20 min. to reconvene at 8:45 pm. Mindy Dainty seconded. Motion carried 7-0.

(9) Jerry Alexander moved to go into Executive Session for 10 minutes to reconvene at 9:00 p.m.to discuss personnel. Joe Ulery seconded. Motion carried 7-0.

(10) Tara Underwood moved to go into Executive Session for 20 minutes to reconvene at 9:20 p.m. to discuss personnel. Greg Hite seconded. Motion carried 7-0.

(11) Jerry Alexander moved to adjourn at 10:00 p.m. Joe Ulery seconded. Motion carried 7-0.
