USD # 247 BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING – February 8,
2010
A regular meeting of the USD #247 Board of Education
was called to order by President
(1) Jerry Alexander moved to approve the agenda as amended. Greg Hite seconded. Motion carried 5-0.
(2) Joe Ulery moved
to approve the minutes of the January 11, January 14, January 21, and January
26, 2010 meetings. LaDonna Hartman seconded.
Motion carried 5-0.
(3) Greg Hite moved to approve the bills totaling $147,102.87. Jerry Alexander seconded. Motion carried 5-0.

Cheney (4) Per the administration’s
recommendation, Keith Ritchey moved to accept the
Turner resignations of Quentin Turner
and Nick R. Cheney as assistant track coaches at
Resign
track Southeast High School for the
2010 season. Greg Hite seconded. Motion carried 5-0.

LaDonna Hartman moved to go into Executive Session to discuss non-elected
personnel for twenty minutes to reconvene at 7:05 pm. Jerry Alexander seconded. Motion carried 5-0.
President Ritchey called the meeting back to order.

Hartman moved to go into Executive Session to discuss non-elected personnel for
ten minutes to reconvene at 7:20 pm. Joe
Ulery seconded. Motion carried 5-0.

(7) Per the administration’s recommendation, Joe Ulery
moved to hire Nick G. Cheney and Clinton Rider as assistant track coaches at
Dr. Howard Smith presented a timeline on district
reorganization feasibility study and it was discussed. Dr. Smith is going to research the
potential restructuring of grades K-12 in the district. The time frame to
conduct this study will be much longer than the original proposed schedule. He
will present a new time line at the next board meeting.
Tara Underwood joined the meeting via telephone.
(8) Greg Hite moved to adjourn at 8:35 p.m. Jerry
Alexander seconded. Motion carried 6-0.
