Board Meeting Minutes Jan 11, 2010

 

USD # 247 BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING – January 11, 2010

 

A regular meeting of the USD #247 Board of Education was called to order by President Keith Ritchey at 6:30 p.m., Monday, January 11, 2010, at the District Office.   Other members present were Greg Hite, Mindy Dainty, Tara Underwood, LaDonna Hartman, Jerry Alexander, and Joe Ulery.  Also present were Superintendent Tim Burns and Board Clerk Roberta Sellers.  


(1) Joe Ulery moved to approve the agenda as amended.  Jerry Alexander seconded.  Motion carried 7-0.

 

(2)  Jerry Alexander moved to approve the minutes of the December 14, 2009 and January 6, 2010 meetings. Greg Hite seconded.  Motion carried 7-0.

 

(3) Greg Hite moved to approve the bills totaling $150,689.29.  Joe Ulery seconded.  Motion carried 7-0.

 

                        (4) Greg Hite moved to hire Dr. Howard Smith as a facilitator to do a reconfiguration

                        feasibility study for the school district.  Tara         Underwood seconded.         Motion carried 7-0.

 

President Ritchey called for a 5 minute break.

 

                        (5) Tara Underwood moved to go into Executive Session to discuss non-elected personnel for one hour to reconvene at 9:05 pm.  Mindy Dainty seconded. Motion carried 7-0.

 

President Ritchey called the meeting back to order.

 

The board discussed the Interview schedule for the final Superintendent candidates. The candidates will be on campus this week and next. A schedule will be forthcoming to allow faculty, parents, and patrons to meet the candidates.

 

(6)  Tara Underwood moved to go into Executive Session for 10 minutes to reconvene at 9:45 p.m. to discuss non-elected personnel.  LaDonna Hartman seconded.  Motion carried 7-0.

 

President Ritchey called the meeting back to order.
