Leadership Academy Selections
USD 247 is proud to announce Cheri Witt and Brad Coots have been selected to join more than 35 current and aspiring leaders from 26 Kansas School districts to participate in the Greenbush Leadership Academy for the 2010-2011 school year.
Greenbush Leadership Academy is a year-long professional development and networking program for aspiring and practicing Kansas school leaders.
Hosted at the Southeast Kansas Education Service Center, Greenbush Leadership Academy brings in school leaders, Pittsburg State University leaders, education specialists, and partners in the private sector to provide meaningful and beneficial day-long professional development activities for participants throughout the year.
Greenbush Leadership Academy lasts for the full academic year beginning in September and running through June. Major outcomes of the institute include:
- Creating a collegial network with other educational leaders and peers
- Learning trends and forces shaping Kansas education
- Enhancing communication and presentation skills
- Providing leadership skills and training to positively affect Kansas students
- Developing a plan for professional and personal development
