Freedom: A History of US
by Danielle Pflug
Southeast Junior High welcomes you to an exhibition,
Freedom: A History of US.
Developed and on loan from the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History. “Freedom: A History of US draws upon key documents and images to illustrate the changing understanding of freedom in our nation from the Founding Era through the Civil War. It presents some of the men and women who fought and in some cases died to expand freedom to all Americans.”
Some of the images on display will be: a rare 1776 printing of the Declaration of Independence, a secretly printed draft and official copy of the US Constitution, Lincoln’s handwritten notes of speeches and so much more. “The exhibition invites the viewer into the lives of the men and women who forged this nation, whether they arrived by choice or by chains in this land.”
The exhibition will be composed of seventy-five feet of six-interlocking panels and will be on display the month of February in the lobby of Southeast Junior High School, during school hours.
February 9 -- 6-8 PM – Open House – Refreshments – Door Prizes
We hope to see you there!
