Board Meeting Minutes 4/28/2009
USD # 247 BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING – April 28, 2009
A special meeting of the USD #247 Board of Education was called to order by President Greg Hite at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at the District Office. Other members present were Keith Ritchey, Alan Rogers, Troy Smith, Denise Grasso, and Tara Underwood. Also present were Superintendent Tim Burns, and Board Clerk Roberta Sellers.
(1) Denise Grasso moved to approve the agenda as
presented. Tara Underwood seconded. Motion carried
6-0.
Mindy Dainty arrived.
(2) Troy Smith moved to go into executive session for 20 minutes to protect the privacy of nonelected personnel to reconvene at 7:00pm. Denise Grasso seconded. Motion carried 7-0.
President Hite called the meeting back to order.
(3) Denise Grasso moved to go into executive session for 10 minutes to protect the privacy of nonelected personnel to reconvene at 7:20pm. Keith Ritchey seconded. Motion carried 7-0.

(4) Denise Grasso moved to go into executive session for 10 minutes to protect the privacy of nonelected personnel to reconvene at 7:35pm. Tara Underwood seconded. Motion carried 7-0.

(5) Per Mr. Burns’ recommendation, Tara Underwood moved to adopt a resolution to non-renew Leota Coats for the 2009-10 school year. Troy Smith seconded. Motion carried 7-0.
(6) Per Mr. Burns’ recommendation, Greg Hite moved to accept the retirement of
Retirement Jana Dalrymple with thanks for her many years of service. Mindy Dainty seconded. Motion carried 7-0.
(7) Per Mr. Burns’ recommendation, Troy Smith moved to accept Lorrie Chafin’s resignation as elementary counselor for the 2009-10 school year. Alan Rogers seconded. Motion carried 7-0.
(8) Per Mr. Burns’ recommendation, Mindy Dainty moved to accept Eileen
Pierson’s resignation as paraprofessional for the 2009-10 school year. Denise Grasso seconded. Motion carried 7-0.
(9) Per Mr. Burns’ recommendation, Keith Ritchey moved to accept Mike
Resign Bowman’s resignation as PE teacher for the 2009-10 school year. Troy Smith seconded. Motion carried 7-0.

(10) Per Mr. Burns’ recommendation, Troy Smith moved to adopt a resolution to
Non-renew non-renew Debbie Walker as a music teacher for the 2009-10 school year. (See Appendix B) Denise Grasso seconded. Motion carried 7-0.
(11) Troy Smith moved to adjourn at 8:15 pm. Alan Rogers seconded. Motion carried 7-0.
