Board Meeting Minutes 8/31/2009
USD # 247 BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING – August 31, 2009
A special meeting of the USD #247 Board of Education was called to order by President Keith Ritchey at 6:30 p.m., Monday, August 31, 2009, at the District Office. Other members present were Mindy Dainty, Greg Hite, Tara Underwood, Jerry Alexander, LaDonna Hartman and Joe Ulery. Also present were Superintendent Tim Burns, and Board Clerk Roberta Sellers.
(1) Greg Hite moved to go into executive session for five
minutes to discuss a student issue to reconvene at 6:40 pm.
Mindy Dainty seconded. Motion carried 7-0.
President Ritchey called the meeting back to order.
(2) Tara Underwood moved to go into executive session for five minutes to discuss a student issue to reconvene at 6:45 pm. Greg Hite seconded. Motion carried 7-0.

The BOE, Administrators and music teacher discussed Jr. High band, participation, scheduling and other issues. No action was taken.
The BOE and Administrators discussed scheduling and extra-curricular activities.
Administration is reviewing school release time for extra-curricular activities.
The BOE chose candidates to serve on the Superintendents search screening
committee.
(3) Keith Ritchey moved to go into executive session for 20 minutes to discuss negotiations, personnel and a student issue to reconvene at 9:30 pm. Jerry Alexander seconded. Motion carried 7-0.
President Ritchey called the meeting back to order.
Gates (4) Per Mr. Burns’ recommendation, Greg Hite moved to hire Randy Gates as the
Mechanic bus mechanic for USD #247. Jerry Alexander seconded. Motion carried 7-0.
Kimrey (5) Per Mr. Burns’ recommendation, Greg Hite moved to hire Korey Kimrey as
Scheduler transportation scheduler for USD #247. Mindy Dainty seconded. Motion carried 6-1.
Jerry Alexander left.
Cert. (6) Per Mr. Burns’ recommendation, Joe Ulery moved to approve the negotiated
Salaries agreement as presented. Tara Underwood seconded. Motion carried 6-0.
(7) LaDonna Hartman moved to adjourn at 10:35 pm. Joe Ulery seconded. Motion carried 6-0.
