Board Meeting Minutes 9/14/2009

USD # 247 BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING – September 14, 2009
A regular meeting of the USD #247 Board of Education was called to order by Vice-President Tara Underwood at 6:35 p.m., Monday, September 14, 2009, at the District Office. Other members present were Mindy Dainty, Jerry Alexander, Greg Hite, LaDonna Hartman, and Joe Ulery. Also present were Superintendent, Tim Burns and Board Clerk, Roberta Sellers.
(1) Greg Hite moved to approve the agenda as amended. Mindy
Dainty seconded. Motion carried 6-0.
(2) Greg Hite moved to approve the minutes of the August 10, 2009 meeting. Jerry Alexander seconded. Motion carried 6-0.
(3) Jerry Alexander moved to approve the minutes of the August 31, 2009 meeting.
LaDonna Hartman seconded. Motion carried 6-0.
(4) Greg Hite moved to approve the bills in the amount of $242,567.85. Mindy Dainty seconded. Motion carried 6-0.
(5) Greg Hite moved to approve the superintendent search committee as presented.
Joe Ulery seconded. Motion carried 6-0.
(6) Joe Ulery moved to go into Executive Session to discuss personnel 15 min. to reconvene at 7:15 pm. Jerry Alexander seconded. Motion carried 6-0.
Vice President Underwood called the meeting back to order.
(7) Greg Hite moved to go into Executive Session to discuss personnel issues for 10 min. to reconvene at 7:50 pm. Jerry Alexander seconded. Motion carried 6-0.

(8) Jerry Alexander moved to go into Executive Session to discuss personnel issues for 10 min. to reconvene at 8:05 pm. LaDonna Hartman seconded. Motion carried 6-0.
Vice President Underwood called the meeting back to order.
(9) Per Mr. Burns’ recommendation, Mindy Dainty moved to approve the Classified and Adminstrative raises as presented. Greg Hite seconded. Motion carried 6-0.
(10) Per adminstration’s recommendation, Joe Ulery moved to approve the supplemental contracts as presented. Jerry Alexander seconded. Motion carried 6-0.
(11) Per administration’s recommendation, Joe Ulery moved to approve the sports handbook as presented. LaDonna Hartman seconded. Motion carried 6-0.
October 15th at 6 pm the board will take a tour of the buildings, starting at Southeast.
(12) Greg Hite moved to adjourn at 9:45 p.m. Jerry Alexander seconded. Motion carried 6-0.
