Board Clerk/Business Manager and Payroll Officer-
This position is the second position required by statute and the second most critical position for a school district.
Essential Duties:
Oversee the business operations of the district and the USD 247 Board of Education
Assist in Preparation of District Budget
Maintain and Certify District Budget and publish required and requested reports
Prepare and Communicate District and BOE communications
Oversee and process district payroll functions
Oversee and process district KPERS functions
Oversee and process district insurance functions
Oversee and process district financial grant reports and budgets
Oversee and process district taxes and tax reports.
Oversee and maintain District Files
Oversee and conduct supporting operations for BOE meetings including taking and publishing minutes
Process independently or assist superintendent with State and Federal Reports
Oversee Central Office staff and their functions
Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Ability to work a 12 month contract on salary basis.
Ability to work 40-50 hours per week M-F on average.
Ability to work seated at a computer or doing paperwork for long periods of the day.
Ability to use a computer for communications, spreadsheets, accounting programs, and report creation.
Ability to work early mornings or late evenings at needed times.
Ability to work on a weekends in the event a situation demands.
Ability to travel by automobile or plane overnight occasionally during the year.
Ability to lift and move 25lbs.
Ability to answer and operate a multiple line phone system.
Ability to drive district or private vehicle for school business.
Ability to speak to large and small groups of people.
Ability to type a minimum of 45 words per minute.
Ability to use a ten key machine.
Ability to operate Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to be able to conduct working lunches.
Ability to communicate in formal English both orally and in writing.
Ability to perform effectively in a rapidly changing and challenging environment.
Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
Understanding of School budgets, business and environment
Bookkeeping or accounting skills
Payroll Experience
Insurance Experience
KPERS Experience
MAPP Accounting Software experience
Knowledge of KSDE Applications

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
