Deaven Thompson Elected to the Kansas FCCLA State Executive Council

Southeast High School has a long history of leadership in Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America. The latest to step into a leadership role at the state level is Junior, Deaven Thompson. She is serving as the State Vice President of Recognition.

Deaven started her career in FCCLA as a freshman when she ran for a chapter leadership position. She was elected as a district officer her sophomore and junior years, serving as district president this past school year. She has led by example as a member of FCCLA by being active in all service projects and competing in student recognition contest, known as STAR Events. Deaven and her team competed at the national level in Anaheim, California last summer.

In July, Deaven will be traveling to Orlando, Florida to attend the National FCCLA Leadership Conference. While there, she will be attending workshops, leading Kansas Delegation Meetings, and recognizing national award winners.
